A 1 1/2 hour walking tour in historic downtown and waterfront Sitka with the real, untold and surprising story of Sitka's history: Tlingit America, Yankees in Sitka with the otter trade, The Battles of 1802 and 1804, ambitious Russians and how they really interacted with Tlingit people, who lived here, Americans military and civilian, the circumstances of the Transfer of 1867, the Kake War, commercial fishing, WWII, boatbuilding, the longline Gold Rush, and more.

Sitka Public Library - 320 Harbor Dr, Sitka, AK 99835, USA

Tour follows Sitka's historic waterfront and downtown, with view of Sitka Sound and stops at historic sites including Totem Square and outside the historic ANB Founders Hall and ANB Harbor.

Meet up in front of Sitka Public Library. Tour guide will have hot pink Sitka Maritime Heritage cap.

Dress for the weather, so you will be comfortable walking and standing for 1 1/2 hours.
